Leng received a BA(Hons) in Japanese Studies from Oxford Brookes University in 2019 alongside a BA(Hons) in Illustration from Falmouth University in 2024. 

While studying in Tokyo between 2017-2018, he rediscovered his love for creativity through cultural exchange workshops that offered classes in sumi-e ink painting and origami. 

These past experiences inspire much of his current practice; working mainly with paper to create delicate 3D constructions as well as contrastingly loose, expressive ink paintings.
